This report presents an application for funding under the Council’s Community Fund Programme.
An application for community funding has been received from the Funtley Village Society, for the sum of £1,659.71 to purchase equipment for the effective running of the first Funtley Village Fete, which they are organising for June 2018.
The fete will be a community event, promoted in Funtley, and the surrounding area. Its focus is to encourage community cohesion and create a sense of identity for Funtley. It will take place at Funtley Recreation Ground, and the Society are liaising with the Council regarding the hire of open space. Any profits from the event will be used for future community projects in the village.
The organisation’s objective is to ‘help sustain a corporate interest in the village as a community.’ It currently has 103 members, and as of the close of August 2017 had £1,120 in its account.
The full cost of equipping the Funtley Village Fete is £2,095.71. Of this, £436 is being met by the borrowing of equipment from the Warsash Festival Committee. The funding requested would be used to purchase such remaining items as fencing, traffic cones, games, a trolley, a Personal Address system and a generator.
Both Ward Councillors, Councillor Mrs Bryant and Councillor Mrs Clubley, have expressed their support for the Community Funding application by the Funtley Village Society.
That the application for £1,659.71 from Fareham Borough Council’s Community Fund submitted by the Funtley Village Society to purchase equipment for the effective running of the first Funtley Village Fete be approved.
