Constitution

Fareham Borough Council's Constitution sets out how decisions will be made and the rules and procedures under which we will operate. The law requires some of these processes, while others are a matter for the council to choose. The Constitution ensures that these procedures are efficient, transparent and accountable and explain our decision-making system and the powers of councillors involved. We have also used it to let you know who your councillors are, who holds a particular office and your rights to attend and speak at meetings of the Council. The Introduction provides an overview of the various sections and the documents that they hold.
