This report seeks approval for the Executive Member for Health and Public Protection and the Chairman of the Health and Public Protection Policy Development and Review Panel to attend the ‘Community Animal Welfare Footprint Awards (CAWF) which are being held at the RICS Parliament Square, London on 28 November 2017.
Fareham Borough Council has achieved a Gold Stray Dog Footprint award in the RSPCA’s Community Animal Welfare Footprint awards (CAWF) 2017.
CAWF is run by the RSPCA to recognise organisations that go above and beyond basic requirements to ensure higher welfare standards for animals in the services they provide.
The RSPCA works closely with local authorities, the police, local resilience forums and housing associations to help them to deliver animal welfare services. Significant progress in local authority and housing provider animal welfare services has been made, with many authorities going on to exceed the standards they achieved last year, continuing the trend since the scheme was first launched in 2008.
RESOLVED that approval is given for the Executive Member for Health and Public Protection and the Chairman of the Health and Public Protection Policy Development and Review Panel to attend the ‘Community Animal Welfare Footprint Awards (CAWF) being held at the RICS Parliament Square, London on 28 November 2017.
