Applications for Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Vehicle Driving Licences To consider a report by the Director of Planning and Regulation, which contains exempt information, on applications for hackney carriage/private hire vehicle driving licences. Minutes: Case 1 – Mr M
The Panel considered a report by the Head of Environmental Health on an application for a hackney carriage licence (a copy of the report, which contains exempted information, was circulated with the agenda).
The Panel were informed that Mr M was unable to attend this meeting as he had another conflicting appointment.
The Licensing Officer reported regarding the case of Mr M, where information received required that his application for a hackney carriage licence needed to be determined by the Panel.
The Panel decided that it was unable to make a decision on this application as there were many points they needed clarifying from the applicant.
RESOLVED that the Panel defer the consideration of this application to a future meeting so that Mr M can attend and answer any queries that the Panel have.
Case 2 – Mr A
The Panel considered a report by the Head of Environmental Health on an complaint received regarding the conduct of a hackney carriage licence holder (a copy of the report, which contained exempt information, was circulated with the agenda).
The Licensing Officer reported regarding the case of Mr A, where information received required that his hackney carriage driving licence needed to be determined by the Panel.
At the invitation of the Chairman and in accordance with the Council’s standard procedure for the hearing of driving licence applications, the applicant addressed the Panel regarding his application and answered questions thereon.
Following the submission of his representation, the Chairman, Members of the Panel and the Solicitor withdrew from the meeting to consider the application.
After the Panel’s deliberations, all parties were recalled to hear the Chairman announce that the Panel had come to the following decision:-
RESOLVED that the applicant be given a Formal Written Warning. |
