To inform the Executive Member of the outcome of a tender exercise in respect of the Fareham and Gosport CCTV partnership, for the maintenance and repair of the CCTV equipment.
The Fareham and Gosport CCTV Partnership was established in 1997 to jointly manage and operate a network of approximately 85 public space CCTV cameras via a single control room based in Gosport.
The Council’s current maintenance and repair contract for these cameras expires on 15th December 2016 and a tendering process was undertaken to identify a contractor to carry out this function.
Fareham Borough Council procures this contract on behalf of the partnership and the costs are then apportioned between the Councils based on the number of public space CCTV cameras each authority has.
The tender programme also included New Forest District Council and Eastleigh Borough Council as their maintenance and repair contracts were also expiring in 2016. This presented the opportunity to combine our requirements and enhance our market leverage through procurement collaboration. The four Councils agreed to work together to evaluate bids and award to the same supplier, with Fareham and Gosport leading the e-tender.
Since 2009 the maintenance and repair of the CCTV cameras and associated equipment has been carried out by Chroma Vision Ltd.
The new contract will be for a period of 5 years with a possible two year extension.
