This report presents an application for funding under the Council's Community Fund Programme.
An application for funding of £4,999 has been received from Alan Emmott of Fareham Wheelers Cycling Club to purchase cycle rollers, turbos, bike boxes, team kits, track bikes, discs and safety jackets and signage. The whole project will cost in excess of £9,000. The club have saved enough money to fund the whole project if their application is unsuccessful.
The club is one of 3 clubs in Hampshire to be affiliated to the British Cycling Association and has 5 professional coaches working with them. They hold their meetings at Catisfield Village Hall on Tuesdays. The last Tuesday of each month focuses on youngsters. The club undertakes Sunday rides, time trials, hill climbs, coaching, training, fitness sessions, roller racing evening and social events.
The cycling club run teams of all ages and are an integral part of the community.
Councillor Miss Tiffany Harper, Chairman of Titchfield CAT meeting supports the application and Councillor Mrs Connie Hockley supports the application.
That the application for £4999 from Fareham Borough Council’s Community Funding Programme, submitted by Fareham Wheelers Cycling Club for the purchase of equipment by approved.
