This report presents an application for funding under the Council's Community Fund Programme.
Mr White a resident of High Mead, Fareham has requested funding of £3,590.40 for the enhancement of the footpath that runs between Red Barn Lane and High Mead in Fareham.
The enhancement will include a 2 meter width path over the full length of the path, will have edge boards and natural draining membrane. This will be topped with Grade 1 Hogging, rolled and compressed.
The reason for the enhancement is that during the winter the condition of the footpath is very poor to the extent that the footpath is unusable/inaccessible. The footpath is used daily by residents, school children and walkers to access community facilities in the immediate area.
The footpath in question is owned by Hampshire County Council and Liz Giles from the County has been consulted and given permission for the works to be undertaken.
Councillor Howard as Chairman of Fareham Town CAT and Councillors Whittingham and Davies are supportive of the above application.
That the application for £3,590.40.from Fareham Borough Council's Community Funding Programme, submitted by Mr White for the enhancement of the footpath that runs between Red Barn Lane and High Mead be approved.
