23/02/2017 - Attendance at 'The Future of Housing Supply 2017' Conference ref: 1893    Recommendations Approved

This report seeks approval for the Executive Member for Planning and Development to attend ‘The Future of Housing Supply 2017’ Conference taking place at the Congress Centre, London on 30 March 2017.

 

In 2017 the government has already announced 30 new local authority partnerships to develop brownfield sites for Starter Homes and has set out plans for the development of 14 new garden villages and 3 garden towns with the capacity to create 200,000 new homes.

 

In total the government has unlocked £7 billion for affordable housing delivery, including £1.4 billion of funding for 40,000 new affordable homes announced in the 2016 Autumn Statement and the Home and Communities Agency’s £4.6 billion Shared Ownership and Affordable Homes Grant Programme.

 

With this in mind, Inside Government is bringing together heads of planning and strategy from across the housing sector and local government to, ‘The Future of Housing Supply 2017’, and interactive strategy forum.

13/02/2017 - Article 4 Direction - Titchfield: Consultation ref: 1882    Recommendations Approved

This report sets out the case for an article 4 Direction to be made within Titchfield Conservation Area in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (As Amended).

 

This report seeks authorisation for an Article 4 Direction to be made for the Titchfield Conservation Area in accordance with The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (As Amended).

 

The use of an Article 4 Direction in the conservation area was recommended in the conservation area character appraisal and management strategy that was adopted on 7th January 2013. At that meeting the Council's Executive resolved that the making of an Article 4 Direction in the above conservation area should be supported. This report recommends the use of an Article 4 Direction to conserve the character and appearance of the conservation area; it specifies which permitted development rights are to be removed and which buildings it is proposed that it applies to. The report recommends the use of the non-immediate procedure which includes a period of public consultation prior to the Article 4 Direction being confirmed by the Council and coming into force. Any representations received will be reported back to the Executive Member for Planning and Development to be taken into account in deciding if the Article 4 Direction should be confirmed.

13/02/2017 - Article 4 Direction - Wallington: Consultation ref: 1883    Recommendations Approved

This report sets out the case for an Article 4 Direction to be made within Wallington Conservation Area in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (As Amended).

 

This report seeks authorisation for an Article 4 Direction to be made for the Wallington Conservation Area in accordance with The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (As Amended).

 

The use of Article 4 Directions in the conservation area was recommended in the conservation area character appraisal and management strategy that was adopted on 12th May 2014. At that meeting the Council's Executive resolved that the making of an Article 4 Direction in the above conservation area should be supported. This report recommends the use of an Article 4 Direction to conserve the character and appearance of the conservation area; it specifies which permitted development rights are to be removed and which buildings it is proposed that they apply to. The report recommends the use of the non-immediate procedure which includes a period of public consultation prior to the Article 4 Direction being confirmed by the Council and coming into force. 10/02/2017 - Purchase of Compact Sweeper ref: 1892    Recommendations Approved

To consider a recommendation to purchase a new compact sweeper for the Streetscene team to allow for continuity of the existing service.

 

This report provided the Executive Member for Streetscene with information on the proposal to purchase a new compact sweeper as part of the capital vehicle replacement programme.
