This report considers the tenders received and recommends an award of contract for the water testing and monitoring contract for the buildings where the Council has a responsibility for managing the risk of Legionnaires’ disease.
The Council has a corporate health and safety responsibility to ensure its water systems are maintained and monitored to prevent the growth of Legionella bacteria above safe levels. The highest risk element is the cooling towers serving the Civic Offices, in total 52 buildings are included within the contract. The current arrangement has been extended to 1 March 2013, therefore the water testing & monitoring maintenance contract required for the Council’s assets has been re-tendered.
