This report presents an application for funding under the Council's Community Fund Programme.
Joanne White, on behalf of The Rainbow Centre, Fareham has requested funding of £4,999 to help upgrade their ICT systems.
The Rainbow Centre works with children and adults with motor impairment; in particular children who have cerebral palsy, adults recovering from strokes and those suffering from multiple sclerosis and Parkinson disease.
The Rainbow Centre is requesting funding to help with an up-grade of their ICT systems. The current servers are over 7 years old and have reached capacity. They are prone to systems failure which impacts on the centre's ability to function effectively. The Rainbow Centre also has a number of out of date laptops and PC's, all of which are using different operating systems. This has a limiting effect on staff being able to work flexibly with attendees at the centre.
The total cost of the project is £20,568. The remainder of the finances will be supplied by the Rainbow Centre applying for funding from Hampshire County Council, Tesco Charity Trust and the from their own finances.
Councillors Steadman and Howard are supportive of this application.
