The report presents an application for funding under the Council’s Community Fund Programme.
Mr Les Barnes, on behalf of Crofton Judo Club has requested funding of £4,787.94 to purchase new sports mats for the club.
Crofton Judo Club is a family orientated club and gives all members a chance to have fun at the same time as learning an Olympic sport. The club is open to all but specifically covers Fareham and Lee-on-Solent.
Over the last 6 months the club has experienced an increase in numbers joining and, in October 2013, moved from Crofton Community Centre to new larger premises in Titchfield Community Centre to accommodate the growing membership.
The funding would be used to replace 23 ageing mats with 34 new floor mats and 2 crash mats which would double the existing mat area for the Club.
Councillor Harper and Councillor Mrs Hockley are happy to support this bid.
That the application for £4,787.94 from Fareham Borough Council's Community Funding Programme, submitted by Mr Barnes for Crofton Judo Club for the purchase of sports mats, be approved.
