This report presents an application for funding under the Council's Community Fund Programme.
Mrs Fiona Harris, a local resident, has requested funding of £1,150 for the purchase and installation of a bench in memory of Alderman Ernest Crouch.
The bench is proposed to be sited on publicly accessible land along the route of the Fareham Easy Access Trail (FEAT) to the south of Peacock Close/Birdwood Grove. The bench would match those already installed nearby with a plaque affixed.
The application from Mrs Harris is for the full amount of the cost of procuring and installing the bench. The bench would be purchased by Fareham Borough Council and the works carried out by approved contractors.
Ward members for Portchester West have been consulted on this proposal. Any comments received will be reported to the Executive Member prior to the meeting at which a decision on this funding bid is due to be made.
That the application for £1,150 from Fareham Council's Community Funding Programme, submitted by Mrs Fiona Harris, for the purchase and installation of a memorial bench be approved.
