This report considers the tenders received and recommends an award of contract for the lift maintenance, repair and overhaul services to Council owned lifts across the borough; with the possibility of operating in other neighbouring Councils within the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Procurement Partnership ('HIOWPP') through a 4 year framework agreement.
The Council has a corporate health and safety responsibility to ensure its lift systems are maintained to a safe standard. The existing separate maintenance contracts for the Council’s assets will expire during 2013, therefore the opportunity has arisen to bring all the lift contracts together with one contract renewal date. The Council has a total 15 lifts in the 10 buildings that are included within the contract. The current arrangements have been extended on short terms as required and will be added into the new contract as the renewal dates expire for the individual sites.
RESOLVED that the Executive approves that the tender submitted by Temple Lifts Ltd, being the best value tender received, be accepted and a contract awarded to the company.
