This report presents an application for funding under the Council's Community Fund Programme.
Mr David Green, Club Secretary of Fareham Heathens RFC has requested funding of £2,906.95 to purchase sports equipment and kit for the club.
Fareham Heathens RFC is a local rugby club run by volunteers. They have 2 senior teams and run a Midi, Mini and Youth Section with approximately 300 children playing rugby. The club also has a Colts team that caters for 16 to 19 years old and in excess of 25 ladies playing Touch Rugby.
The club have reported that due to the current economic situation they have been unable to attract the normal level of sponsorship making it difficult to cover the costs of replacing old and damaged equipment. The funding would be used to purchase new equipment including corner poles, flags, shirts and training equipment.
CAT Chairman for Fareham Town; Councillor Howard and Councillor Steadman were happy to support the bid.
That the application for £2,906.95 from Fareham Borough Council's Community Funding Programme, submitted by David Green, Club Secretary of Fareham Heathens RFC for the purchase of equipment and kit be approved.
