This report presents the tenders received for the appointment of a consultant to assist in the selection of an operator for both Fareham Leisure Centre and the proposed Western Wards swimming pool.

Tenders have been received for the appointment of a consultant to assist in the selection and appointment of an operator for both Fareham Leisure Centre and the proposed Western Wards swimming pool.

The consultancy service will include the provision of legal advice on the operational arrangements, preparation of the partnership documentation, assistance in negotiating the contractual arrangements and the management of any tender process that may be required.

The tenders have been evaluated and it is recommended that the contract be awarded to RPT Consulting in the sum of £34,680 (subject to negotiation and an agreed scope of works being agreed).

The contract will be undertaken in two phases:

Phase one: Operator selection and contractual arrangements for the new Western Wards pool facility to align with the existing facility service concession ending in 2020, and

Phase two: An optional extension to enable the Council to engage the consultant to further assist in the procurement of an operator for both Fareham pool complexes from 2020.

To award a contract to RPT Consulting for the sum of £34,680 to provide the advice required to select and appoint an operator for the services for both Fareham Leisure Centre and the proposed Western Wards swimming pool.
